Opened in 1892, the Schiller Theatre Building was designed by the firm Adler & Sullivan. At the time of its construction, it was among the tallest buildings in Chicago. Originally funded by German investors, it was projected to be used for German-language operas and cultural events. This earring design comes from a stencil used for decoration.
